Phoenix Police Investigate After Body Found in Canal
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Phoenix police are conducting an investigation following a disturbing discovery early Wednesday morning.
Incident Details
Around 2:30 a.m., officers received reports of a body in a canal near 20th Street and Monterey Way, south of Osborn Road. Upon arrival, they found an unresponsive man in the water. The canal area is a well-traveled path, often frequented by early morning joggers and local residents, making the discovery particularly alarming for the community.
Emergency Response
Phoenix firefighters assisted the police in retrieving the man’s body from the canal. Emergency medical personnel were on the scene, but despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The retrieval process was delicate and required specialized equipment to ensure the body
