PARADISE VALLEY, AZ (AZFamily) — Tevin Terrell Favor, a 32-year-old Scottsdale personal trainer and former member of the Arizona State University football team, has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman at a house party in Paradise Valley. This arrest comes four years after he was acquitted of a similar crime.

Favor was apprehended in the vicinity of 59th Street and Camelback Road. According to court documents, he invited a 20-year-old woman to a party on April 21 at a residence he claimed belonged to Miami Dolphins wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., located near 36th Street and Camelback Road.

The victim, accompanied by a friend, arrived at the party via Uber. She told detectives that Favor provided her with tequila shots despite her being underage and instructed her to lie about her age to other guests. The woman reported that she became intoxicated and that Favor repeatedly touched her inappropriately, even though she tried to move away from him.

Feeling uncomfortable, the woman confided in Favor’s girlfriend, who was also present at the party, and then left the scene in tears. However, Favor allegedly took the victim into a bedroom, continued to touch her inappropriately, and kissed her despite her protests. The victim's memory became hazy, and she next recalled waking up to find Favor on top of her, raping her.

The victim’s friend found her after the assault and reported that Favor initially prevented them from leaving. The friend managed to sneak past Favor, pull the victim out of the room, and they left the party together via Uber.

Following the assault, Favor texted the victim hours later, admitting to having sex with her, apologizing profusely, and asking if she hated him while urging her not to tell anyone. The victim underwent a rape kit examination at the hospital, which revealed several minor injuries.

Three days after the party, Favor informed all his clients, except the victim, that the gym was closing, and he deleted his social media accounts. Police eventually arrested Favor on Wednesday as he was leaving his girlfriend’s apartment complex.

Favor has been booked into jail on charges of sexual assault and unlawful imprisonment, with his bond set at $150,000. Authorities have noted that Favor has a history of sexual assault allegations.

In 2016, a woman claimed that she blacked out after leaving a club and woke up to find Favor raping her while recording it on his cellphone. She later declined to cooperate with the police. In September 2018, Favor was arrested and charged with raping a woman at her Scottsdale apartment, but a jury found him not guilty in 2020.

Additionally, after the September 2018 arrest, another woman reported that Favor pinched her nipples and manipulated her into giving oral sex in a fast food drive-thru. She did not want to prosecute but provided a statement. Months later, a woman accused Favor of raping her in 2017 and again in November 2018, but she did not report the incidents until she saw news of his September arrest. Favor was not arrested for these accusations.

ASU confirmed that Favor was on the preseason football team roster in 2012 as a walk-on but never played in any games. The case against Favor has sparked significant concern and discussion in the community, particularly regarding the importance of supporting victims and ensuring justice is served.

The Tucson Police Department has extended its gratitude to the Pima County Attorney’s Office, specifically Major Crimes Bureau Chief Mark Hotchkiss, 88-Crime, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the University of Arizona Police Department for their assistance. They also thanked community members who came forward with information, aiding the progress of the investigation.
