Jared Parsonage, hailing from Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, emerged victorious on the opening night of the Cody Snyder Charity Bullbustin’ event held at the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino in Calgary, Alberta. This event, part of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada Touring Pro Division, saw Parsonage deliver a stellar performance, clinching the top spot and advancing significantly in the national standings.
Parsonage’s standout ride came aboard Ain’t About Fame from Thompson Rodeo Livestock, scoring an impressive 88 points—a feat that not only secured him the event win but also earned him 38 crucial national points in his pursuit of the 2024 PBR Canada Championship. This achievement propelled Parsonage from the 11th to the 9th position in the rankings, narrowing the gap between him and the current leader, Cody Coverchuk from Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, to just 638.34 points.
The evening showcased the intense competition among top riders striving for supremacy in the bull riding circuit. Dixon Tattrie of Youngstown, Alberta, claimed the second spot with an 85-point ride on Uncorked from Vold Rodeo, boosting his standings from 25th to 20th place. Garrett Green, another contender from Meeting Creek, Alberta, secured third place with an 83-point ride atop Twist Of Something, also from Thompson Rodeo Livestock. Green’s performance improved his ranking from 13th to 12th, bringing him within 676.5 points of the coveted first place.
Wyatt Rogers, representing Hulbert, Oklahoma, made a notable debut on Canadian soil by capturing fourth place with an 80-point ride on Sicario from Two Bit Bucking Bulls. Rogers, riding for the Kansas City Outlaws in the PBR Teams league, garnered 15 national points and entered the Canadian rankings at No. 37, showcasing his potential in the competitive arena.
The Cody Snyder Charity Bullbustin’ event at Grey Eagle Resort and Casino marks just the beginning of the 2024 PBR Canada season, promising thrilling action and fierce rivalries as riders continue to vie for top honors. The event, scheduled from July 3-6, promises nightly excitement starting at 7 pm MDT, highlighting the grit, skill, and determination of bull riding’s finest athletes.
