The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced Wednesday the successful cloning of two additional black-footed ferrets, Noreen and Antonia, using the same genetic material that produced the first cloned ferret, Elizabeth Ann, born in 2021. This brings the number of these cloned, endangered predators to three, all genetically identical to one of the last wild ferrets discovered.

Elizabeth Ann, the pioneering clone, faced breeding difficulties due to reproductive organ issues unrelated to her cloning.
