A teacher at Independence High School in Glendale, Arizona, finds himself in legal trouble after being accused of surreptitiously recording students as they changed clothes.

According to legal filings, Estevan Carreon, 53, allegedly orchestrated a meeting with students during spring break, promising them extra credit. On March 18, six students, including two boys and four girls from the school's media club, received invitations from Carreon to come to school for project work.

Prior to their arrival, Carreon purportedly installed hidden cameras in the changing room of the classroom.

While working on their project recordings, the students reportedly utilized the classroom's changing area, unaware of the concealed camera's presence.

However, one of the boys noticed a suspicious power charger plugged into an outlet in the changing room. Upon closer inspection, he uncovered a hidden camera within the device. Acting quickly, another student discreetly concealed the camera to avoid alerting Carreon. Subsequently, the students conducted a thorough search of the changing room, uncovering two more hidden cameras.

Shocked by their discovery, the students promptly informed their parents, who then contacted the authorities. Legal documents reveal that an SD card found within the charger contained footage of the female students undressing.

Law enforcement officials contacted all students involved and their families. A search warrant was issued for Carreon's residence and digital media.

On Monday, Glendale police arrested Carreon on multiple charges, including voyeurism and sexual exploitation of a minor.

Investigators are currently examining evidence to determine if there are additional victims in this case. In response to the incident, the Glendale Union High School District released a statement on Tuesday, announcing Carreon's placement on administrative leave pending further investigation.
