Our comprehensive examination of more than 650 exit interviews, spanning from 2023 onwards, with teachers from Hillsborough County, Pinellas County, and Palm Beach County, offers a poignant glimpse into the complex dynamics at play. Among the key findings, it's evident that approximately one-third of respondents attributed their departure to the necessity of relocation, underscoring the transient nature of the profession and the personal sacrifices it demands.

Furthermore, nearly a quarter of those surveyed highlighted salary discrepancies as a pressing concern, signaling a pervasive issue that undermines teacher retention efforts statewide. Beyond financial considerations, teachers expressed distress over mounting work-related pressures and a palpable lack of support from their districts, factors that contribute significantly to burnout and disillusionment within the profession.
