An E-PASS Uni does not have the Sticker's single-windshield restriction. CFX says a Uni can move to another vehicle in the same class, such as another two-axle vehicle, after the E-PASS account is updated with the new vehicle information.
For a Uni staying with the same vehicle, use this replacement-day order:
- Remove the Uni before the installer begins cutting out the old windshield.
- Store it where it will not be dropped, scratched or left inside the work area.
- Wait until the new glass has been installed and the immediate work is finished.
- Mount the Uni on the new windshield using CFX's stated position.
If the Uni housing or mounting components are damaged, contact an E-PASS representative before relying on it.
Where to Place E-PASS on a New Windshield
Mounting a toll tag on a new windshield in Orlando begins with CFX's placement rule. CFX tells drivers to mount an E-PASS Sticker or Uni behind or below the rearview mirror and below any tinting at the top of the windshield. Start there, then work around the camera bracket and sensor housing fitted to your vehicle.
- Choose a position behind or below the mirror rather than inside the upper tint band.
- Do not cover the forward-facing ADAS camera lens or place the tag across a sensor housing.

Metal-Oxidized Windshields and Toll-Transponder Reads
CFX warns that certain vehicles have metal-oxidized windshields that can inhibit a Uni from being read. On a metal-oxidized windshield, toll-transponder performance cannot be judged by looking at the glass. Select the replacement from the vehicle information and the original glass features, not from a generic piece that only matches the size.

Leave Room for the ADAS Camera and Rain Sensor
The forward-facing ADAS camera is commonly mounted near the rearview mirror, which is also the CFX mounting area. A replacement windshield must have the correct bracket and optical area for that equipment. The toll tag should not block the camera's view or interfere with a rain sensor attached to the glass.

If a newly mounted E-PASS Sticker after windshield replacement does not appear to be reading, do not peel it off to try another position; ask an account representative what to check next.
A Uni can be moved, but repositioning it does not fix an account mismatch or a windshield compatibility issue. Check the account first, then the mounting position against CFX's current instructions.
How Florida's Windshield Coverage Rule Fits In
Under Florida Statutes § 627.7288, the deductible does not apply to windshield damage when an authorized insurer issued or delivered the motor vehicle policy in Florida and that policy includes comprehensive coverage. The statute limits this rule to the windshield.
The statute says nothing about a replacement E-PASS Sticker, so ask CFX about the tag and your insurer how your policy applies to the windshield.
