Common causes of a cracked windshield here

  1. The 836 through the middle

The Dolphin Expressway cuts across the city, and its on-ramps near the Turnpike are where loose stones get thrown at windshields.

  2. Tamiami Trail traffic

SW 8th Street on the southern border carries heavy, stop-and-start traffic past the FIU campus, and a small chip can grow from the daily jolts.

  3. Hot lots, cold air

A car that bakes in an open parking lot and then gets a blast of air conditioning puts stress on the glass. That is often when a chip turns into a crack.

Local areas and main roads

Sweetwater grew north across the Dolphin Expressway in 2010 and again in 2021, so its ZIP codes cover more than the original town.

Where we meet you

We work where you park in Sweetwater.

Plenty of Sweetwater homes have no driveway, so a street space or an assigned apartment spot is fine as long as both front doors can swing open.

Working near Dolphin Mall or in the office buildings off NW 25th Street? Your employer’s lot works too. Ask building management first if they have rules about vendors on site.

Is there a deductible for windshield replacement in Sweetwater?

On a policy with comprehensive coverage, there isn’t one: in Florida, the deductible does not apply to windshield damage. Your other windows and the sunroof go through the deductible your policy sets. We go over your coverage before you book. Florida windshield law.

I live in an apartment with assigned parking. Can you still do it?

Yes. An assigned space or a guest spot is enough if there is room to open both front doors. If the complex has a gate or a front desk, put that in your booking notes.

Can you replace a windshield for an FIU student or employee?

Yes, at home or wherever the car is parked off campus. Campus garages have their own rules, so we plan the visit at your address unless the university allows the work.

A truck kicked a rock at me on the Turnpike. Should I wait?

Text us a photo of the damage. A crack that reaches the edge, or one in front of the driver, should be replaced soon. A small chip can sometimes wait a little, and we will tell you which case you have.
