What breaks windshields around here

  1. SR 19 to the forest

SR 19 runs through the middle of town and on into the national forest, carrying campers, boat trailers and trucks that throw stones on its two-lane stretches.

  2. Sandy shoulders

Rural roads near the forest often have sandy shoulders, and grit picked up there gets thrown back onto the pavement and into windshields.

  3. Lightning season

Summer storms hit the lakes around town hard, and their wind brings down limbs from the pines and oaks.
