A SunPass sticker after a new windshield in Lee County is governed by SunPass instructions, not LeeWay's sticker procedure. The same distinction applies to E-PASS. Lee County accepts all three programs at its toll plazas, but acceptance at the plaza does not make their replacement rules interchangeable.

Lee County's Midpoint, Cape Coral and Sanibel Causeway toll plazas accept LeeWay, SunPass and E-PASS. The county's toll FAQ says that when the system does not detect a transponder, it uses license-plate imaging and mails an invoice through pay-by-plate.

- Cape Coral Bridge transponder and windshield check: Drivers traveling toward Cape Coral should know if the retained or replacement product is ready before reaching the plaza.
- Sanibel Causeway toll transponder: Drivers heading toward Sanibel should make the same check before that crossing.
A LeeWay pay-by-plate bill is mailed to the address on file. The invoice includes a transaction ID and reference number that identify the crossing and billing record.
An active account does not make a detached, discarded or incorrectly mounted device readable. The physical transponder must be the proper product for the vehicle and installed according to its issuer's instructions.

Where to Mount a LeeWay Transponder on the New Glass
LeeWay places a windshield transponder inside the vehicle, in the center of the windshield, behind the rearview mirror and below any window tinting. That official position applies to its sticker and windshield-mounted hard case. It puts the toll transponder behind the rearview mirror on the cabin side of the glass.
The center area may also contain a forward ADAS camera, a rain sensor or both. Do not cover a clear optical opening, camera viewing window or sensor contact area to make the tag fit. Check the owner's manual for vehicle-specific restrictions around those components.
- Find the tint boundary. The transponder belongs below the tint rather than on or above the shaded section.
- Identify the camera area. Look for a housing attached to the glass behind the mirror and the clear area through which the camera views the road.
- Locate any rain sensor. Keep the transponder off the sensor's optical area.
- Confirm the final point. Use LeeWay's center mounting zone without covering a camera or sensor, then affix the correct product to the glass.
A black housing can hide the camera bracket while leaving clear glass beside it. Judge the mounting point by the camera's viewing area, not by the driver's view alone. If there is no open space in the prescribed zone, ask LeeWay for product guidance; LeeWay warns that placement elsewhere may result in incorrect readings and may lead to traffic citations.
The bumper-mount product remains outside the vehicle, so it does not compete with the mirror, camera or tint for windshield space. LeeWay identifies that product for a vehicle in which an internally mounted transponder will not read.
Cameras, Sensors and the Mobile Glass Appointment
Many windshields carry a forward-facing ADAS camera behind the rearview mirror. That camera looks through a defined section of glass for camera-based driver-assistance functions. A toll sticker placed over that section can obstruct its view.
The camera bracket, rain sensor, head-up display, antenna and acoustic layer can affect the windshield configuration required for the vehicle. The year, make, model and VIN help identify the glass. A photograph of the mirror area can show the visible camera and sensor housings.
Florida Statutes section 559.920(18) makes it a violation to fail to give the customer electronic notice, or written notice in at least 12-point type, stating if ADAS calibration or recalibration is required as part of motor vehicle glass replacement or repair. Read that notice so you know if camera work belongs in the appointment.
