A dynamic procedure begins with the vehicle and diagnostic equipment prepared, then moves onto a route that supports the prescribed drive. Depending on the vehicle, the process can require clear lane boundaries, a specified speed range, steady travel and enough distance for the system’s learning criteria.
North Port’s 2023 road condition assessment evaluated more than 800 miles of roadway and found over 85 percent of the city’s roads in very good or excellent condition. Price Boulevard is undergoing an approximately 2.75-mile widening from east of Sumter Boulevard to west of Toledo Blade Boulevard. The project changes the road from two lanes to five, including a continuous center turn lane. The city’s Price Boulevard project page targets substantial completion for late 2027.
The city identifies Price Boulevard as an east-west artery and says the project will strengthen evacuation routes and clear the way for emergency responders. Paving stages and traffic shifts can change the markings available to a forward camera even while the road remains open.
FDOT is also widening about five miles of River Road (State Road 777) from Tamiami Trail (U.S. 41) to I-75, with completion estimated in early 2027. A September 2026 update said trucks would cross the road at various locations using intermittent flagging operations.
Flagging creates stops and active work entrances. If the vehicle requires continuous lane tracking at a steady speed, the current River Road operation may not fit the procedure. These projects narrow route choices while traffic controls and marking changes are active; they do not eliminate road-based calibration throughout North Port.
Wellen Park Needs an Exact Address Before Route Selection
Wellen Park covers 11,000 acres, so the community name does not identify one jurisdiction or one approach road. Depending on the property, the address falls within the City of North Port or unincorporated Sarasota County. Give the exact service address rather than entering only “Wellen Park.”

An address described only as “Venice” can therefore sit on property within North Port city limits. Florida Statutes section 627.7288 says a deductible under comprehensive or combined additional coverage does not apply to damage to the windshield. The statute addresses the windshield only. It does not itself say that an ADAS calibration charge receives the same treatment, and it does not extend that provision to Door Glass Replacement, Rear Glass Replacement or Sunroof Glass Replacement.
How a calibration line is treated comes down to the policy and insurer. The Florida Department of Financial Services describes comprehensive coverage as paying for vehicle damage from incidents other than a collision, including fire, theft, windstorm, vandalism or flood, as well as falling objects or hitting an animal.
