Subaru back glass

We replace Subaru rear glass at homes and job sites in the Phoenix and Tucson areas of Arizona and the Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Jacksonville and West Palm Beach areas of Florida. Most Subarus carry it in a liftgate, a few in a fixed sedan or coupe window.

  1. Most of the range opens at the back

    Outback, Forester, Crosstrek and Ascent all have a liftgate, and the current Impreza is sold only as a five-door hatchback. On these the back glass rides in the gate, so we work around its struts, wiper and wiring.

  2. The 2026 Outback changed shape

    Subaru gave the all-new 2026 Outback a steeper rake on the rear window to free up cargo room. We order the back glass by model year and VIN, not by the name on the badge.

  3. Sedans and the BRZ keep a fixed window

    The Legacy and WRX are sedans, and Subaru describes the BRZ coupe with a narrow greenhouse and a rear decklid. Their back glass is bonded into the body rather than a gate.

  4. Privacy shade and power gates

    Ascent Premium lists rear window privacy glass, so the shade has to match. Subaru’s repair information also names the power liftgate among parts that can need an initialization after work, and we tell you up front if yours does.

Most back glass is tempered, so one hit can turn the whole pane into small pieces that end up all over the car. It carries wiring too: the defroster grid and, on many cars, the radio antenna.

    Back glass changes with body style and trim. Your VIN tells us which pane your car came with: defroster grid, antenna lines, privacy tint, a hole for the rear wiper, a brake-light mount or a sliding center panel.

  2. Broken glass vacuumed out

    Tempered glass breaks into small cubes that land on the seats, the rear shelf and the trunk or cargo floor, and slip into the seams. We vacuum where it fell before the new glass goes in.

  3. Defroster and antenna tested

    The defroster grid and any antenna lines are printed on the replacement glass. We connect them to your car’s wiring and test them before we leave.

  4. Lifetime workmanship warranty

My Forester’s back glass shattered. Can I still drive it?

Carefully, for a short trip, with no loose glass near you. Tempered back glass breaks into small pieces, so tape plastic over the opening, keep the gate shut and send us a photo or call (877) 994-5277.

Will my rear defroster work after the new glass goes in?

It should. We reconnect the defroster leads to the new glass and switch it on before we leave, along with the rear wiper on a liftgate model.

Does insurance cover Subaru rear glass?

Normally under comprehensive. In Arizona, the optional full glass coverage reaches the back window too, so your share can be $0 if you have it. In Florida, rear glass usually falls under comprehensive with the deductible. We check before booking. How insurance works for auto glass.
