What we check in a Chrysler back glass replacement.

We replace Chrysler rear glass at homes and workplaces across the Phoenix and Tucson areas of Arizona and the Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Jacksonville and West Palm Beach areas of Florida. A minivan liftgate and a sedan back window are built differently, and your VIN tells us which parts come with the glass.

  1. Minivan liftgate glass

    The back glass on a Pacifica or Voyager sits in the liftgate, with a rear wiper and a washer nozzle on the liftgate. We disconnect them, swap the glass and test the wiper and washer before we leave.

  2. Defroster lines to reconnect

    Most Chrysler back glass has a printed defroster grid with a lead on each side. Those leads are reattached to the new glass, and we check that the grid warms up.

  3. Roof glass is a different part

    On a Pacifica with the tri-pane roof, the glass above the third row belongs to the sunroof, not the back window. If that panel is the one cracked, we quote it as roof glass.

Most back glass is tempered, so one hit can turn the whole pane into small pieces that end up all over the car. It carries wiring too: the defroster grid and, on many cars, the radio antenna.

    Back glass changes with body style and trim. Your VIN tells us which pane your car came with: defroster grid, antenna lines, privacy tint, a hole for the rear wiper, a brake-light mount or a sliding center panel.

  2. Broken glass vacuumed out

    Tempered glass breaks into small cubes that land on the seats, the rear shelf and the trunk or cargo floor, and slip into the seams. We vacuum where it fell before the new glass goes in.

  3. Defroster and antenna tested

    The defroster grid and any antenna lines are printed on the replacement glass. We connect them to your car’s wiring and test them before we leave.

  4. Lifetime workmanship warranty

    Our workmanship and defects in the glass are covered for as long as you own the vehicle, including leaks, wind noise or loose trim caused by our work.

My Pacifica’s liftgate glass shattered. What do I do until it’s replaced?

Cover the opening first. Broken back glass that is tempered crumbles into small pieces that keep dropping, so tape plastic over the opening, keep the liftgate shut, and send us a photo. We vacuum up what’s left when we replace it.

Will the rear wiper work after the new glass goes in?

It should. We take the wiper off, move it to the new glass, reconnect the washer and test both before we leave. If anything acts up afterwards, call (877) 994-5277.

Does insurance pay for Chrysler rear glass?
