Infiniti back glass

What to expect from an Infiniti back glass replacement.

Rear windows on Infinitis are replaced on site in the Phoenix and Tucson areas of Arizona and around Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Jacksonville and West Palm Beach in Florida. A crossover liftgate and a sedan back window are different jobs.

  1. Privacy glass on the QX80 liftgate

    Infiniti lists dark privacy glass in the QX80’s rear liftgate, and the redesigned 2025 model adds an infrared cut to its rear privacy glass. We order the tint your SUV left the factory with.

  2. QX60 liftgate glass is tinted too

    The QX60 has rear privacy glass and a power liftgate as standard since 2022. A replacement pane should match the dark tint of the windows around it.

  3. The Q50 back window carries the defroster

    Every Q50 in the 2021 spec table has a rear window defroster with an indicator light and timer. On a back window, the defroster grid is part of the glass, so the new pane comes with it and we reconnect the leads.

Most back glass is tempered, so one hit can turn the whole pane into small pieces that end up all over the car. It carries wiring too: the defroster grid and, on many cars, the radio antenna.

    Back glass changes with body style and trim. Your VIN tells us which pane your car came with: defroster grid, antenna lines, privacy tint, a hole for the rear wiper, a brake-light mount or a sliding center panel.

  2. Broken glass vacuumed out

    Tempered glass breaks into small cubes that land on the seats, the rear shelf and the trunk or cargo floor, and slip into the seams. We vacuum where it fell before the new glass goes in.

  3. Defroster and antenna tested

    The defroster grid and any antenna lines are printed on the replacement glass. We connect them to your car’s wiring and test them before we leave.

  4. Lifetime workmanship warranty

    Our workmanship and defects in the glass are covered for as long as you own the vehicle, including leaks, wind noise or loose trim caused by our work.

The back glass on my QX60 exploded. Can I drive it?

For a short trip, yes, once the loose glass is cleared off the seats and out of your way. Cover the opening against rain and exhaust, keep the liftgate closed, and call (877) 994-5277 or text us a photo so we can get the glass ordered.

Does my Q50’s new back window come with the defroster?

Yes. The defroster grid is built into the rear glass, so the replacement window has it, and we reconnect the leads before we leave.

Does insurance pay for Infiniti rear glass?

Why did my Infiniti’s back window shatter on its own?

Rear glass is normally tempered, so it stores tension across the whole pane. An old chip near the edge, a hard close of the liftgate or a jump from hot sun to cold rain can let it go, often with no clear cause. Tape plastic over the opening and send us a photo with the VIN.
