Cadillac glass

Before we order Cadillac glass.

Cadillac builds one model with several windshields. A head-up display, a rain sensor or the camera package each change the part number, so we start from the VIN.

  1. A camera behind the mirror

Cadillac’s owner’s manual puts the front camera on the windshield, right behind the rearview mirror. GM’s repair rules say to calibrate that camera any time the windshield is replaced or taken out and refit.

  2. Head-up display glass

On a Cadillac with a head-up display, the manual counts the windshield as part of that system. GM bulletins for the ATS and the 2015 Escalade describe a blurry or doubled image when a windshield without HUD support went in.

  3. Antenna lines in the back glass

On the XT5 and XT6, Cadillac says the top lines on the rear window are radio antenna lines, not heater lines. A new back glass gets both the antenna and the defroster connected again.

  4. A glass roof on the Lyriq

The Lyriq has a full-glass roof over the cabin instead of a small sliding panel, with a power shade under it. It is a far bigger panel than a sliding sunroof, so we price it by VIN.

Will my Cadillac’s camera need calibrating after a new windshield?

If there’s a front camera behind the mirror, yes. GM calls for calibrating it every time the windshield is replaced. We confirm it from your VIN before booking and do it in the same visit where the procedure can be done on site. Cadillac ADAS calibration.

Can you replace an Escalade windshield that has a head-up display?

Yes. We order the HUD version of the windshield for your VIN, so the speed and directions it projects stay sharp. The same lookup tells us which camera bracket and rain sensor your Escalade has.

Do I need a Cadillac dealer to replace my glass?

No. We install OEM-quality glass matched to your VIN at your home or work. If insurance is paying, your policy and your state’s rules decide your share, and we walk through them with you before booking. How insurance works for auto glass.

How long will my Cadillac be tied up?

A windshield usually takes about 30–45 minutes to install, with extra time when the camera gets calibrated. Your technician tells you when the car is safe to drive.
