How the roofs work before a Cadillac sunroof replacement.

We replace Cadillac sunroof glass where the car is parked, around Phoenix and Tucson in Arizona and around Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Jacksonville and West Palm Beach in Florida. Most Cadillac sunroofs tilt and slide under a power sunshade. The Lyriq’s roof is a different kind of part.

  1. Vent, halfway, full open

    An XT5 or XT6 fitted with the comfort stop opens in three presses: vent first, then about halfway to keep wind noise down, then all the way. A new panel has to hit each of those stops, so we test them all.

  2. Seals and drain channels

    Cadillac’s manual warns that debris on the seal or in the track can cause noise and plug the water drains. After a sunroof breaks, we get the glass out of the track and drains before the new panel goes on.

  3. The Lyriq’s glass roof

    Cadillac lists a full-glass roof on the Lyriq. It is a fixed panel with a power shade under it rather than a sliding sunroof, and far larger, so we quote it by VIN.

  2. Track and drains cleared. Where the car is parked, Mon–Sat, the broken panel comes off, the pieces come out of the track, the drains, the sunshade and the seats, and OEM-quality glass goes on.

  3. Cycled before we leave. We vent, open and close the sunroof, checking how it sits against the seal and the roof. Bonded glass needs time to set; your technician tells you when it’s safe to drive.

Many sunroofs are tempered glass, which breaks into small pieces all at once. Some panoramic roofs use laminated glass, which cracks but holds together.

  1. OEM-quality glass for your exact roof

    Your VIN tells us which roof the car came with: a tilt-and-slide panel, a moonroof under a sliding shade or a panoramic roof with a fixed rear pane. The new glass matches its shape, tint and mounting points.

  2. Fitted flush, then tested

    A moving panel is bolted to its slide mechanism, set level with the roof and run through tilt, slide and close. A fixed pane is bonded in with urethane.

  3. At your home or work, Mon–Sat

    We bring the glass to where the car is parked. A single tilting panel is a shorter visit than a two-pane panoramic roof, and your quote gives the time for your vehicle.

  4. Lifetime workmanship warranty

    If the install ever leaks or whistles, or the glass has a defect, we come back and make it right, for as long as you own the vehicle.

Why did my Cadillac sunroof shatter out of nowhere?

Sunroof glass is usually tempered, so when it fails it breaks all at once into small pieces. A stone, heat stress or a weak spot in the glass can start it. Close the sunshade, tape plastic over the opening before rain and text us a photo.

Can you replace the glass roof on a Lyriq?

Yes. We look up the roof panel for your Lyriq by VIN and quote it before anything is booked. It’s a large part, so we tell you the ordering time when we quote.

Is a Cadillac sunroof covered by insurance?

Is it safe to drive a Cadillac with a broken sunroof?
