Kia windshields carry more than glass
Kia mounts the Drive Wise camera at the top of the windshield, where it reads lane markings for Lane Keeping Assist and watches traffic for Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist. On higher Telluride trims the same glass also shows a 12.0-inch head-up display. So a Kia windshield for a Forte, a Sorento and a Telluride are three different parts, ordered by VIN.
Before the visit we check the camera bracket, the rain sensor pad and the black ceramic border on your Kia's current glass. EVs like the EV6 and EV9 use their own windshield shapes, and the three-row Telluride and Sorento use tall panes that are set with care along the roof edge.
Telluride head-up display
Higher Telluride trims project a 12.0-inch head-up display, so they take HUD-ready windshield glass.
Drive Wise camera mount
The Kia camera bracket sits at the top center of the glass behind the mirror and must match exactly.
EV6 and EV9 glass
Kia's electric EV6 and EV9 use windshields shaped for their own bodies.
Rain sensor pad
Kia trims with automatic wipers mount a rain sensor on the inside of the windshield.
Kia Drive Wise calibration after new glass
The Drive Wise camera judges lane markings and the distance to traffic from its spot behind the Kia windshield. After a new pane goes in, that view changes slightly, so the camera is calibrated before Lane Keeping Assist and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist are relied on. Your Kia calibration is planned with the windshield job, and we say early if a separate appointment is needed.
Kia procedures vary by model. A Telluride or K5 may be aimed against a target board set ahead of the car, checked on a road drive with clear lane lines, or both, and we confirm which applies before the visit.

Kia builds sedans, minivans, three-row SUVs and EVs, and each windshield is a separate order. A few common ones.
Kia Telluride
Higher trims add a 12.0-inch head-up display, so trim decides the Telluride windshield.
Kia Sorento
The Sorento's tall windshield holds the Drive Wise camera on equipped trims.

Sportage windshields change with each generation and carry the camera bracket at the top.

What sets a Kia windshield price
A Forte windshield and a Telluride windshield with a 12.0-inch head-up display are priced very differently. The model, year, camera bracket and HUD option decide the Kia part, and Drive Wise models add a calibration step. A free coverage check happens before anything is booked.

Is a Kia windshield covered in Arizona and Florida?
Florida comprehensive coverage waives the deductible on a new windshield, whether it is for a Forte or a Telluride. Arizona works by election: insurers must offer full glass coverage, and a Sportage or Sorento is covered that way only when the option is on the policy. Your Kia windshield visit

With the cowl and camera cover off, the old Sorento or K5 windshield is cut out, the frame is primed, and the new glass sets into urethane.
