What sits behind a Lexus back glass replacement.

Lexus back glass is replaced on site for drivers near Jacksonville, Miami, Tampa, West Palm Beach and Orlando in Florida and near Phoenix and Tucson in Arizona. An SUV liftgate window, a GX lift door and a sedan rear window are three different jobs.

  1. The GX window that pops open

    The 2024 GX has a power rear lift door with a window that opens separately, so you can reach the cargo area without lifting the whole door. That glass is its own part, and we order it by VIN.

  2. Power liftgates that relearn

    Lexus repair information lists the Power Back Door System among systems that may need initializing after repair. Once the new glass is in, we open and close the liftgate under power to make sure it stops where it should.

  3. A camera mirror, not just a window

    Some NX and ES trims offer a digital rearview mirror that shows a camera view behind the car. We check that view, along with the defroster and the rear wiper where your Lexus has them, before we go.

Most back glass is tempered, so one hit can turn the whole pane into small pieces that end up all over the car. It carries wiring too: the defroster grid and, on many cars, the radio antenna.

  1. OEM-quality back glass, matched by VIN

    Back glass changes with body style and trim. Your VIN tells us which pane your car came with: defroster grid, antenna lines, privacy tint, a hole for the rear wiper, a brake-light mount or a sliding center panel.

  2. Broken glass vacuumed out

    Tempered glass breaks into small cubes that land on the seats, the rear shelf and the trunk or cargo floor, and slip into the seams. We vacuum where it fell before the new glass goes in.

  3. Defroster and antenna tested

    The defroster grid and any antenna lines are printed on the replacement glass. We connect them to your car’s wiring and test them before we leave.

  4. Lifetime workmanship warranty

    Our workmanship and defects in the glass are covered for as long as you own the vehicle, including leaks, wind noise or loose trim caused by our work.

The back glass on my RX shattered. Is it safe to drive?

Back glass is usually tempered, and it keeps shedding small pieces after it breaks, so keep driving to a minimum. Leave the liftgate shut, tape plastic over the opening if rain is coming and text us a photo. We vacuum the cargo floor during the install.

Can you replace just the pop-out window on a GX lift door?

Yes. On the 2024 GX, the window in the lift door is a separate piece of glass, so we replace that window and leave the door itself alone.

Does insurance cover Lexus rear glass?

Normally through comprehensive. Arizona drivers with the full glass option on their policy can have it covered. In Florida, expect the comprehensive deductible to apply. We go through the policy with you and confirm your share first. How insurance works for auto glass.

How much is a Lexus back window?

Will the defroster work after my Lexus back glass is replaced?
