Lincoln Navigators built from 2003 to 2017 have a flip-up rear glass that opens on its own latch, separate from the liftgate. Newer Navigators, Aviators, Nautilus and Corsair models bond heated glass into the power liftgate with a wiper. On the MKZ, Continental and Town Car, the back window is glued in above the decklid and warmed by a defroster grid.
Rear glass breaks across the cargo floor or rear shelf, so cleanup comes first. Then the Navigator's hinged glass is fitted with its hardware, or a bonded pane is set in urethane, and the defroster and wiper are reconnected.
