Calibrating the Maybach stereo camera
Once a new windshield is bonded on a Maybach S-Class or GLS 600, the stereo multi-purpose camera has to be calibrated before DISTRONIC, Active Lane Keeping Assist and Active Brake Assist are relied on. We arrange that step alongside the Maybach windshield so the car leaves ready.
Mercedes lays out the routine for each model, pairing a printed target placed ahead of the Maybach with a diagnostic tool plugged into the car. A level, well-lit space suits it, and if your garage or drive will not, the plan is agreed before any glass comes out.

How a Maybach windshield visit goes
With the screen in hand, we meet the Maybach where it is kept. The cowl, mirror cover and camera housing come off, the old windshield is cut from its bond, and the new glass is set on fresh urethane with the camera bracket where Mercedes placed it. On S-Class and GLS 600 cars, calibration follows before handover where the procedure can be done on site.
