The badge on the trunk says little about the glass. One C-Class may have a head-up display, an acoustic film and a sensor with extra functions, and the next may have none of them. The VIN settles which.
The camera near the mirror gets calibrated
I-CAR’s summary of Mercedes-Benz procedures for the 2016 to 2024 model years says the multifunction camera near the rearview mirror is calibrated after a windshield replacement. We plan that visit from the first call.
Some cars have glass layered for quiet
Mercedes laminates the windshield and all door windows of the G-Class with an acoustic membrane, and every window of the current S-Class. A C-Class can be ordered with an acoustic film in the windshield and front side windows. The replacement has to match.
A heated windshield as an option
The current S-Class can be ordered with a windshield that is electrically heated to clear frost and fog. If yours has one, the new glass has the heating built in, and we plug it back in before the car is handed back.
Roofs come in several kinds
The GLE’s Panorama roof has a front panel that tilts or slides over the rear one. The current CLA has a fixed glass roof, which can be ordered with glass that darkens electrically. We quote the roof your car actually has.

Does my Mercedes need the camera calibrated after a new windshield?
Most recent ones do. For the 2016 to 2024 model years, Mercedes-Benz procedures call for calibrating the multifunction camera near the mirror after the glass is replaced. We confirm it by VIN and do it in the same visit where it can be done on site. Mercedes-Benz ADAS calibration.
Will the head-up display still work?
Yes, when the windshield is made for it. A car built with a head-up display gets display glass, ordered by VIN. Mercedes’ procedure has the display checked on the new glass and adjusted if needed, and we look at it with you before we pack up.
Do I need a Mercedes dealer for glass?

Is it worth filing an insurance claim for a cracked Mercedes windshield?
Often it is, because the camera calibration and any rain and light sensor are part of the same job. In Arizona, the full glass option can leave nothing for you to pay on a windshield. We look at your policy, give you the full price either way and help you file your claim if you choose to.
