What changes on a Mercedes windshield.

We fit Mercedes-Benz windshields at driveways and office lots around Tucson and Phoenix, and around Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, West Palm Beach and Miami. These are the items your VIN decides before we order.

  1. The multifunction camera

    A camera near the rearview mirror reads the road through the glass. For the 2016 to 2024 model years, Mercedes procedures call for calibrating it once the windshield is replaced, so the bracket on the new glass and the calibration are both on your quote.

  2. A rain and light sensor with extra jobs

    Mercedes says a rain and light sensor with additional functions is always replaced along with the glass, not moved over. If your car has that sensor, it is listed on the quote before you agree to anything.

  3. Head-up display, acoustic film, heating

    The C-Class offers a head-up display and an acoustic windshield film as options, and the GLC has an acoustic membrane as standard. On the S-Class and EQS, an electrically heated windshield is on the option list. Each of those changes the part number.

How it works

How a windshield replacement goes, from crack to clear glass.

  1. Give us the Mercedes. Year and model online, by phone or by text. We read the VIN for the camera, display and sensor, then tell you whether calibration is part of the job. Claiming on insurance? We check the policy and help you file your claim.

  2. A window down, the glass changed. At your home or work, Mon–Sat, one side window stays down while the old windshield comes out and OEM-quality glass goes in on fresh urethane. Mercedes’ procedure asks for that, so a closing door can’t push on the wet seal.

  3. Camera calibrated, display checked. When your car needs it, the camera is calibrated in the same visit where it can be done on site, and a head-up display is checked on the new glass. Your technician tells you when it’s safe to drive.

A driver-assist message came up after the glass was changed. What does it mean?

Usually that the camera has not been calibrated to the new windshield. When we do the install, the calibration happens in the same visit where it can be done on site. If a message shows up after our work, call (877) 994-5277 and we’ll look into it.

How much does a Mercedes-Benz windshield cost?

Can you keep my windshield dash camera working?

Mercedes describes a camera in the windshield that can record the road ahead on models such as the C-Class, GLC and S-Class. Whatever is mounted behind the old glass moves to the new one, and before we leave we check that the recording still works.

How long will I be without the car?

Most installs take about 30–45 minutes, plus the calibration when your car needs it. The urethane needs time to set and the weather plays a part, so your technician tells you when it’s safe to drive.

Does a new Mercedes windshield need camera calibration?
