USAA windshield replacement Arizona and Florida

We're a mobile auto glass shop serving Arizona and Florida. Tell us you're insured with USAA and we'll verify your coverage, handle the claim paperwork, and come to you — usually next-day.

USAA policies turn up in both states we cover, and Arizona and Florida answer the deductible question under different statutes. Glass claims here are often coordinated through a third-party administrator, so you may be handed a referral number — you still choose your own shop. Here is how the replacement actually goes.

What happens after you report the crack

USAA policies show up steadily in both of the states we serve, so the first thing worth sorting out is which one you are in. Arizona and Florida treat auto glass deductibles under completely different statutes, and the answer for a Tucson driver is not the answer for a Tampa driver. Everything below is split accordingly.

The second thing to know is procedural. Glass claims under a USAA policy are frequently coordinated through a third-party glass administrator rather than handled end-to-end by a claims adjuster. In practice that means when you call it in or file through the app, you may be given a referral number, dispatch number, or claim reference specific to the glass loss. Write it down. It is the single piece of information that makes the rest of the process fast, and it is the first thing we will ask you for.

You still pick the shop

A referral number is a coordination tool. It is not an assignment you are bound to. In both Arizona and Florida, the vehicle owner chooses their own glass shop, and that right does not change because an administrator is routing the paperwork. If you are given a number and a suggested provider, you can hand that same number to us instead. We take it from there and bill the claim directly.

Florida

Florida law (Fla. Stat. 627.7288) requires insurers to waive the deductible for windshield replacement when the policy includes comprehensive coverage. That statute is narrow and it is worth being precise about the boundary: it applies to the windshield. Door glass, quarter glass, rear glass and sunroof glass are not covered by the waiver, and those losses run through your comprehensive deductible in the ordinary way. So if a rock took out your windshield on I-4, the deductible question is settled by statute. If someone broke your passenger window in a parking lot, it is not.

Arizona

Arizona works differently. Arizona law (A.R.S. 20-264) requires insurers to OFFER optional no-deductible safety-glass coverage. The word doing the work there is offer. It is an option you had to have elected when the policy was written or renewed — it is never automatic and it is not an entitlement. Some USAA members in Arizona carry it and some do not. Pull up your declarations page and look for a safety glass or full glass endorsement, or ask when you report the loss. If you elected it, the windshield goes through without a deductible. If you did not, your comprehensive deductible applies.

The vehicles we actually see on these claims

Across USAA claims, the makes that come up most often for us are Toyota, Kia, Honda, Ford and Nissan — a very daily-driver mix, and roughly split between newer camera-equipped cars and older ones. That split matters because the two halves are different jobs.

On the newer side, the windshield is a mounting surface for a forward-facing camera. Toyota Safety Sense, Honda Sensing, Nissan ProPILOT, Ford Co-Pilot360 and Kia's forward collision-avoidance systems all read the road through the glass. Move the glass, and the camera's aim relative to the road changes. Recalibration is part of the replacement, not an upsell — depending on the platform it is a static procedure against a target board, a dynamic procedure driven at road speed, or both. Some of these vehicles also need the rain sensor and lane camera bracket transferred or replaced, and a few will hold a fault until the calibration completes. We plan for it up front rather than discovering it in your driveway.

On the older half, the work is about fit and what is behind the glass. A ten-year-old Corolla or Altima in Phoenix has spent a decade in UV that turns cowl clips and moldings brittle; they break on removal and need replacing rather than reusing. In coastal Florida, the concern is the pinchweld — salt air plus an old urethane bed can leave corrosion that has to be treated properly before new urethane goes down, because urethane bonds to a sound surface and not to rust. Neither of these is exotic, but both are the reason an older-vehicle appointment is not just a faster version of a newer one.

Give us the VIN, not just the year and model

Within a single model year, these five makes ship several different windshields. A Ford F-150 might have a heated wiper park area, acoustic interlayer, a heads-up display, or none of them. Toyota and Honda vary by trim on rain sensor and camera bracket. Kia and Nissan vary on acoustic glass and heating elements. The VIN resolves all of it, so we order the right part once and do not arrive with a windshield that is close but not correct.

We come to you

Bang is mobile-only. There is no waiting room to sit in, because we do the replacement wherever your vehicle is parked — home driveway, office lot, a job site. We do replacements, not chip repair, so if you are weighing a repair versus a replacement, a shop that does both is a better call for the repair question.

The realistic timeline is next-day in most cases. What determines it is part availability for your specific VIN and, on calibration vehicles, whether the procedure your car requires can be completed on site or needs a controlled setting. We will tell you which one applies to your vehicle when you book rather than after.

Before you call us

  • Your USAA policy number, and the referral or dispatch number if one was issued
  • The VIN — it is on the dash at the base of the windshield, or on your insurance card
  • Which glass broke: windshield, door, quarter, rear or sunroof (this drives the deductible answer)
  • Whether your vehicle has lane keeping, adaptive cruise, or automatic emergency braking
  • The address where the vehicle will be parked, and roughly when it is accessible

If you have not filed yet, you can call us first. We can walk through the coverage question for your state and glass type before you report it, so you know what you are looking at going in.

How a USAA glass claim works

  1. 1. You call or book online. Tell us it's a USAA policy and give us your vehicle, the damage, and where you want us to meet you.
  2. 2. We verify your coverage — free. We confirm what your policy actually covers before anything is scheduled, so there are no surprises.
  3. 3. We handle the claim paperwork. We file it and walk you through anything USAA needs from you directly.
  4. 4. We come to you. Home, work, or roadside — most jobs take 30–45 minutes, plus recalibration where your vehicle needs it.

USAA claims in Arizona

Arizona gives you three protections worth knowing before you file. Under A.R.S. § 20-264, every insurer selling comprehensive coverage in Arizona — USAA included — must offer you a zero-deductible full safety-glass option. If you carry it, your windshield replacement is $0 out of pocket. Under A.R.S. § 20-263, an insurer may not raise your premium over an accident you did not cause — the normal treatment for glass damage from road debris. And under A.R.S. § 20-469, the choice of glass shop is yours — not your insurer's.

We serve the Valley and beyond: Phoenix, Mesa, Scottsdale, Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, Glendale, and every Arizona city we serve. Full detail on state coverage rules is on our Arizona insurance guide.

USAA claims in Florida

Florida is the strongest windshield state in the country for drivers. Under Fla. Stat. § 627.7288, an auto policy with comprehensive coverage must replace your windshield with no deductible — so a USAA comprehensive policy generally means $0 out of pocket on a windshield replacement. The statute covers windshield replacement specifically; door, quarter, rear, and sunroof glass follow your normal deductible.

We serve Tampa Bay, Orlando, Miami, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, and cities across Florida. The full statute breakdown is on our Florida windshield law page.

Where we come to you

USAA glass claims — common questions

USAA gave me a referral number and named a glass company. Do I have to use them?+

No. Glass claims on a USAA policy are often coordinated through a third-party administrator, which is why you may receive a referral or dispatch number along with a suggested provider. In both Arizona and Florida, the vehicle owner chooses their own glass shop. You can give that same referral number to us and we will handle the claim from there.

Will I owe a deductible on my USAA windshield replacement?+

It depends on your state. Florida law (Fla. Stat. 627.7288) requires insurers to waive the deductible for windshield replacement when the policy includes comprehensive coverage — windshield only, not door, quarter, rear or sunroof glass. Arizona law (A.R.S. 20-264) requires insurers to OFFER optional no-deductible safety-glass coverage, which is an option you must have elected on your policy; it is never automatic. Check your declarations page for a safety glass endorsement.

My Toyota has lane keeping and automatic braking. Does the windshield replacement include recalibration?+

Yes — on any vehicle with a windshield-mounted forward camera, recalibration is part of the replacement, not a separate add-on. Toyota Safety Sense, Honda Sensing, Nissan ProPILOT, Ford Co-Pilot360 and Kia's collision-avoidance systems all aim through the glass, so the camera has to be re-aimed after the glass moves. Give us the VIN when you book and we will tell you whether your vehicle needs a static target procedure, a dynamic road-speed procedure, or both.

Do I file the USAA claim myself?+

You don't have to. Tell us it's a USAA policy when you book and we handle the claim paperwork and walk you through the filing — that's included, not an add-on. Have your policy number and the date the damage happened handy and we take it from there.

Will a glass claim raise my USAA premium?+

Glass claims are filed under comprehensive coverage and are normally treated as not-at-fault events — a rock thrown up by a passing truck isn't something you caused. Arizona law (A.R.S. § 20-263) bars an insurer from raising your premium as a result of an accident you did not cause or significantly contribute to. Rating practices vary by carrier and policy, so if this is a concern, ask USAA directly how a comprehensive glass claim is treated on your policy.

How fast can you replace my windshield?+

Next-day appointments are typically available across Arizona and Florida, and we come to you — home, work, or roadside. Booking is open 24/7 online or by phone at (877) 994-5277. We confirm your exact window once we've verified your glass and your USAA coverage.
