Acura door glass

Acura door glass replacement: not every door takes the same glass.

We fit Acura side windows at homes and offices around Phoenix and Tucson in Arizona and around Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Jacksonville and West Palm Beach in Florida. Acura mixes acoustic and plain tempered door glass across its range, so we confirm yours by VIN.

  1. Laminated front windows on the MDX and ZDX

    Acura lists acoustic laminate glass in the front side windows of every 2022 MDX and every 2024 ZDX. Laminated glass cracks and stays in the frame instead of falling into the door as small cubes.

  2. The RDX added quieter glass front and rear

    For 2022, Acura gave the RDX acoustic glass in both the front and the rear doors, along with new door insulation. A replacement for one of those doors should be the acoustic version.

  3. TLX door glass is tempered

    The 2021 TLX press kit lists tempered glass in the front and the rear doors. When one breaks, it shatters into pebbles, so most of the job is vacuuming them out of the door and the cabin.

  2. Every last piece cleared. Mon–Sat, wherever the car is parked, we vacuum the seats and carpet, take off the inside door panel and pull loose glass out of the bottom of the door.

  3. Window set, door closed up. The new OEM-quality window is seated in its run channel and the panel goes back on. We run it up and down before we pack up.

Most door windows are tempered glass. When one breaks, it bursts into small cubes, and a lot of them fall down inside the door. Until it’s replaced, the car is open to theft and the weather.

    Front or rear, driver or passenger: each door takes its own glass, in the tint shade your car came with. Some cars use laminated or frameless door glass, and we confirm which yours has before we book.

  2. Broken glass vacuumed out

    We take the inside door panel off and vacuum the glass out of the door, then clean the seat, the floor and the door pocket. Pieces left inside a door can rattle as you drive and scratch the new window.

  3. Replaced where the car is parked

    At your home or work, so nobody has to drive around with an open window. Same-day appointments are available in most areas.

Why did my MDX side window crack instead of shattering?

The front side windows on the MDX are acoustic laminate glass, which holds together when it breaks. Tempered door glass, like the TLX uses, falls apart into small cubes. In both cases we replace the whole window.

Someone broke into my Acura. What should I do first?

Photograph the damage and file a police report, because your insurer may ask for the number. Don’t use the window switch while glass is still in the door. Cover the opening with plastic if rain is on the way, then text us a photo or call (877) 994-5277.

Does insurance cover an Acura door window?

In most cases, through comprehensive. Arizona’s full glass option, if your policy has it, includes door glass, so your share can be $0. Can you replace just the glass in an Acura door?

Yes. We replace the broken window, not the door. The glass is ordered by VIN, so an MDX front door gets its laminated pane and a TLX gets tempered glass. If the window motor or regulator is damaged as well, that part is a job for a mechanic, and we tell you before anything is booked.
