  1. A moonroof panel that tilts and slides

    Many BMWs have a single glass panel that tilts up and slides back on a track. The replacement has to sit level with the roof and press evenly into its seal, or it lets in wind noise and water.

  2. Panoramic roof on the X5

    BMW offers the current X5 with a panoramic glass roof whose clear area is 30 per cent larger than the previous X5’s. With the Sky Lounge option, LED light spreads across the glass at night. We confirm which panel broke before ordering.

  3. The iX roof that shades itself

    The iX can have one glass roof spanning the whole cabin with no cross bars. Its optional shading darkens the glass electrically at the press of a button, so that roof is quoted by VIN.

  2. Broken panel out, new glass on. Mon–Sat at your home or office, we remove the damaged panel, clear the glass from the track, the headliner edge and the cabin, and fit OEM-quality glass.

  3. Opened and closed before we go. A moving panel runs through tilt, slide and close until it seals flush. A fixed panel is bonded in urethane, and your technician tells you when it’s safe to drive.

Many sunroofs are tempered glass, which breaks into small pieces all at once. Some panoramic roofs use laminated glass, which cracks but holds together.

  1. OEM-quality glass for your exact roof

    Your VIN tells us which roof the car came with: a tilt-and-slide panel, a moonroof under a sliding shade or a panoramic roof with a fixed rear pane. The new glass matches its shape, tint and mounting points.

  2. Fitted flush, then tested

    A moving panel is bolted to its slide mechanism, set level with the roof and run through tilt, slide and close. A fixed pane is bonded in with urethane.

  3. At your home or work, Mon–Sat

    We bring the glass to where the car is parked. A single tilting panel is a shorter visit than a two-pane panoramic roof, and your quote gives the time for your vehicle.

  4. Lifetime workmanship warranty

    If the install ever leaks or whistles, or the glass has a defect, we come back and make it right, for as long as you own the vehicle.

My X5’s panoramic roof cracked. Is the whole roof replaced?

Usually just the broken panel. A panoramic roof is made of separate glass pieces, so we find out which one is damaged and quote only that one.

Can you replace the glass roof on a BMW iX?

Send us the VIN and a photo first. The iX roof is a large single panel, and on cars with the shading option it changes tint electrically, so we confirm the exact part, its lead time and the price before anything is booked.

Why would a BMW sunroof break on its own?

Most sunroof panels are tempered, and tempered glass fails all at once when a stone or other hit damages it. Close the shade if your car has one, cover the opening if rain is on the way, and text us a photo.

Does my insurance cover BMW sunroof glass?

Sunroof glass usually goes under the comprehensive part of the policy, and your deductible normally applies. We check the coverage and tell you your share before booking. How insurance works for auto glass.

Can the glass be replaced without replacing the whole BMW sunroof?

Yes, in most cases. On a tilt-and-slide moonroof, the glass panel comes off its track and the new one goes on, set level with the roof so it seals evenly. If the track or motor is damaged too, new glass won’t fix that, and we say so before booking.
