Will my Buick’s camera need calibrating after a new windshield?

If the car has a forward camera behind the glass, yes. GM calls for calibrating it whenever the windshield is replaced. We check your VIN before booking and do the calibration in the same visit where it can be done on site.

My Enclave projects speed onto the windshield. Can you still replace it?

Yes. That is a head-up display, and it needs the matching windshield. We find it by VIN, along with the camera bracket and the rain sensor on trims that have one.

Does a Buick need dealer glass?

No. We fit OEM-quality glass matched to your VIN at your home or work. If insurance is paying, your policy and your state’s rules decide how the claim works, and we walk you through them before booking.

How long is a Buick windshield job?

Plan on about 30–45 minutes for the glass, plus the calibration when your Buick needs one. The technician tells you when the car is ready to drive.

A Buick windshield is rarely just glass. The camera, a head-up display and the trim package change the part number, which is why the VIN comes first.

GM calls for a camera calibration
General Motors calls for a calibration whenever the windshield is replaced, and whenever the front camera is removed, reinstalled or replaced. We plan the calibration from the first call when your Buick has that camera.
Most newer Buicks have the camera
Automatic emergency braking and lane keep assist came standard on every 2020 Encore GX, the 2021 Envision and the Envista from its first year, 2024. We read your VIN to see whether the windshield carries the camera for those systems.
Head-up display glass on some trims
The 2025 Enclave Avenir has a head-up display as standard, and Buick offered one on the Encore GX and Envision too. Those cars take a windshield built for the projection, or the reading looks doubled.
Quieter laminated side glass on the LaCrosse
Buick fitted the 2017 LaCrosse with acoustic laminated glass in the front door windows, alongside the windshield. A cracked one holds together, and the new pane has to be the laminated part.
