Buick door glass

Buick door glass replacement: not every window is the same glass.

We replace Buick door windows in driveways and parking lots around Phoenix and Tucson in Arizona and around Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Jacksonville and West Palm Beach in Florida. Buick has used laminated front door glass on some models to keep the cabin quiet, so the VIN settles which window we bring.

  1. Laminated front windows on the LaCrosse

    On the 2017 LaCrosse, Buick put acoustic laminated glass in the front door windows as well as the windshield. Laminated glass cracks in place and stays in the frame instead of falling into the door.

  2. The first LaCrosse did it too

    When the LaCrosse first came out, GM added an acoustic laminate to its front side glass as part of Buick’s QuietTuning work. An older LaCrosse can still take the laminated part up front.

  3. Acoustic side glass on the 2018 Enclave

    For the 2018 Enclave, Buick’s engineers added acoustic glass to the side windows to quiet the cabin. We check by VIN whether your Enclave door takes that glass.

  2. The mess comes out first. At your home or work, Mon–Sat, we vacuum the seats and floor, pull the door panel and get the loose pieces out of the bottom of the door.

  3. Window in, door closed up. The OEM-quality glass goes into its run channel, we test it up and down, and the panel goes back on. The car locks and seals again.

Most door windows are tempered glass. When one breaks, it bursts into small cubes, and a lot of them fall down inside the door. Until it’s replaced, the car is open to theft and the weather.

    Front or rear, driver or passenger: each door takes its own glass, in the tint shade your car came with. Some cars use laminated or frameless door glass, and we confirm which yours has before we book.

  2. Broken glass vacuumed out

    We take the inside door panel off and vacuum the glass out of the door, then clean the seat, the floor and the door pocket. Pieces left inside a door can rattle as you drive and scratch the new window.

  3. Replaced where the car is parked

    At your home or work, so nobody has to drive around with an open window. Same-day appointments are available in most areas.

Why did my Buick’s front window crack instead of shattering?

It is probably laminated. Buick used laminated front door glass on the LaCrosse, which cracks and stays together, while tempered glass falls apart in small cubes. We replace the whole window either way, with the same type of glass.

Someone broke my window. What should I do first?

Photograph the damage and file a police report, since insurers often ask for the number. Don’t run the window switch with glass in the door, as that can jam the window. Cover the opening with plastic before rain, then text us a photo or call (877) 994-5277.

Is a Buick door window covered by insurance?

Usually under comprehensive. Arizona’s full glass option takes in door windows, so if you chose it, your share can be $0.
