  1. The Regal Sportback opens like a hatch

    For 2018, Buick dropped the Regal sedan and sold the Sportback, a liftback whose rear glass rises with a high-opening hatch. Its back glass is a hatch part, not a sedan window, and we order it that way.

  2. The TourX is a wagon

    The Regal TourX wagon, sold alongside the Sportback, carries its back glass in a liftgate, hands-free and powered on upper trims. We work around the gate’s trim and the defroster leads when we swap the glass.

  3. A defroster grid in the glass

Most back glass is tempered, so one hit can turn the whole pane into small pieces that end up all over the car. It carries wiring too: the defroster grid and, on many cars, the radio antenna.

    Back glass changes with body style and trim. Your VIN tells us which pane your car came with: defroster grid, antenna lines, privacy tint, a hole for the rear wiper, a brake-light mount or a sliding center panel.

  2. Broken glass vacuumed out

    Tempered glass breaks into small cubes that land on the seats, the rear shelf and the trunk or cargo floor, and slip into the seams. We vacuum where it fell before the new glass goes in.

  3. Defroster and antenna tested

    The defroster grid and any antenna lines are printed on the replacement glass. We connect them to your car’s wiring and test them before we leave.

  4. Lifetime workmanship warranty

    Our workmanship and defects in the glass are covered for as long as you own the vehicle, including leaks, wind noise or loose trim caused by our work.

Can you replace the hatch glass on a Regal Sportback?

Yes. The Sportback’s rear glass lifts with the hatch, so we order the hatch glass by VIN, bond it in and test the defroster before we go.

My Enclave’s back glass blew out. Can I still drive it?

Tempered back glass crumbles and keeps dropping pieces. Tape plastic over the opening, keep the cargo area dry if rain is due, and text us a photo. We vacuum the glass out when we replace it.

Will insurance cover Buick rear glass?
