Chevy back glass

Chevy rear window replacement starts with the shape of your glass.

We replace Chevrolet back glass at homes, job sites and workplaces around Tucson and Phoenix, plus Tampa, Jacksonville, West Palm Beach, Orlando and Miami on the Florida side. Trucks and SUVs carry very different rear glass.

  1. Silverado power sliding rear window

    GM sells this slider as a complete assembly and the moving center pane by itself. The defroster reaches the sliding pane through small contacts, so the new glass has to line up with them for the grid to heat.

  2. Removable midgate glass on the Silverado EV

    The Silverado EV’s rear window latches out and stows inside the Multi-Flex Midgate. A replacement has to latch and seal the same way, and Chevrolet says to switch the rear defroster off before removing it.

  3. Tahoe and Suburban liftgate glass

    On the 2015 Tahoe and Suburban, GM tucked the rear wiper under the spoiler at the top of the liftgate. The wiper, the defroster and the privacy tint all get matched to your VIN.

What’s included

Most back glass is tempered, so one hit can turn the whole pane into small pieces that end up all over the car. It carries wiring too: the defroster grid and, on many cars, the radio antenna.

  1. OEM-quality back glass, matched by VIN

    Back glass changes with body style and trim. Your VIN tells us which pane your car came with: defroster grid, antenna lines, privacy tint, a hole for the rear wiper, a brake-light mount or a sliding center panel.

  2. Broken glass vacuumed out

    Tempered glass breaks into small cubes that land on the seats, the rear shelf and the trunk or cargo floor, and slip into the seams. We vacuum where it fell before the new glass goes in.

  3. Defroster and antenna tested

    The defroster grid and any antenna lines are printed on the replacement glass. We connect them to your car’s wiring and test them before we leave.

  4. Lifetime workmanship warranty

    Our workmanship and defects in the glass are covered for as long as you own the vehicle, including leaks, wind noise or loose trim caused by our work.

Only the middle of my Silverado’s slider broke. Do I need the whole window?

Not always. GM sells the center sliding pane on its own as well as the full assembly. We look at a photo and your VIN, then quote the piece that fixes it.

My Silverado EV midgate glass cracked. Can you replace it?

Send the VIN and a photo. It is a removable panel that latches into the midgate, so we confirm the exact part and how long it takes to arrive before anything is booked.

Can I drive my Chevy with the back glass gone?

Rear glass is usually tempered and breaks into small pieces that keep falling out. Clear what you can from the seats, tape plastic over the opening if rain is coming, and send us a photo. We clean up the rest when we replace it.

Does insurance pay for Chevy rear glass?

Usually under the comprehensive part of the policy. Arizona drivers can add full glass coverage, and it can cover back glass. In Florida, rear glass usually goes under comprehensive, and its deductible applies. We check both with you before booking. How insurance works for auto glass.

How does a Chevy Silverado rear window replacement work at a job site?

If the truck is parked somewhere safe to work, we come to it. We sweep the cab, fit the slider assembly or just the center pane, and line the glass up with the defroster contacts so the grid heats before we leave.
