What we check on a Chevy windshield replacement.

We put new windshields in Chevys parked at homes, shops and offices. In Arizona that’s greater Phoenix and Tucson; in Florida, West Palm Beach, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville and Miami. Three things on a Chevy change which glass we bring.

  1. The forward camera and its bracket

    On equipped Chevys a camera sits on the glass ahead of the rearview mirror and reads the lane lines. GM calls for calibrating it whenever the windshield comes out, so the new glass has to carry the right bracket and we plan the calibration up front.

  2. Head-up display glass

    Some Camaro, Corvette, Silverado 1500, Tahoe and Suburban trims project speed and alerts onto the windshield. Those trucks and cars take glass made for a head-up display, or the image can show twice.

  3. A quieter windshield on big SUVs

    GM gave the 2015 Tahoe and Suburban an acoustic-laminated windshield to cut wind noise. On a vehicle built with one, we order the acoustic part, not the plain one.

  2. The swap, where you parked. Mon–Sat at your home or work, the cracked glass comes out, the frame is cleaned, and OEM-quality glass goes in on fresh urethane with the camera bracket in place.

    Before we book, we tell you whether your forward camera needs calibrating. When it does, we calibrate it during the same visit, where the procedure can be done on site. If it can’t be, you hear that before anything is scheduled.

    At your home, your work or wherever the car is parked. Your technician tells you when it’s safe to drive, because that depends on the adhesive and the weather.

My Chevy shows a lane keep or front camera message after a windshield job. Why?

The forward camera has to be calibrated to the new glass, and until it is, lane keep assist and the collision alerts may switch off or show a message. We calibrate it during our visit where the procedure can be done on site. If a message shows up after our install, call (877) 994-5277.

What does a Chevrolet windshield cost?

Each Chevy is priced on its own glass. A Silverado with a forward camera bracket costs more than a base Malibu, and a head-up display or acoustic layer moves the number again. Your quote is free and lists the total before you pick a time. Many drivers who claim it on insurance pay $0 out of pocket; your policy decides.

Does Arizona insurance cover a Chevy windshield?

Arizona glass claims go through comprehensive. If you added the full glass option to your policy, a new windshield can carry no deductible. We pull up your coverage with you and quote your share ahead of the appointment. Arizona glass coverage.

Is there a deductible on a Chevy windshield in Florida?
