Mazda door glass

Mazda door glass replacement: making the window work like before.

We replace Mazda side windows where the car is parked in the Tucson and Phoenix areas and near Jacksonville, Tampa, Miami, Orlando and West Palm Beach. A new pane is only half the job; the window also has to open, close and stop the way Mazda set it up.

  1. One-touch needs a reset

    Mazda’s manuals say the auto up and down only comes back on a power window that has been reset, for example after the battery was disconnected. We run that reset before we pack up.

  2. Jam-safe and the outside opener

    If something sits between the glass and the frame while it closes, the window stops and backs off. Mazda also notes the windows can’t be opened from outside the car until the window initialization is done.

  3. Miata glass meets the roof

    On the MX-5 the side glass closes against the top. On the RF, the windows drop on their own each time the roof opens or closes, and only after a reset if the battery was off.

Most door windows are tempered glass. When one breaks, it bursts into small cubes, and a lot of them fall down inside the door. Until it’s replaced, the car is open to theft and the weather.

  1. OEM-quality glass for your exact door

    Front or rear, driver or passenger: each door takes its own glass, in the tint shade your car came with. Some cars use laminated or frameless door glass, and we confirm which yours has before we book.

  2. Broken glass vacuumed out

    We take the inside door panel off and vacuum the glass out of the door, then clean the seat, the floor and the door pocket. Pieces left inside a door can rattle as you drive and scratch the new window.

  3. Replaced where the car is parked

    At your home or work, so nobody has to drive around with an open window. Same-day appointments are available in most areas.

  4. Lifetime workmanship warranty

My new window won’t go all the way up with one touch. Is it broken?

Usually not. Mazda’s manuals describe a reset for the one-touch function, for example after the battery has been disconnected: open the window fully, then close it and hold the switch for a moment. We run it after fitting the new glass, and if the window still misbehaves, call (877) 994-5277.

Someone smashed my Mazda’s window. What first?

Photograph it and file a police report, since insurers often ask for the number. Don’t run the window switch with glass in the door. If rain is coming, tape plastic over the gap, then text us a photo or call (877) 994-5277.

Can you replace a Miata window?

Yes, on the soft top and the RF. The glass has to close cleanly against the roof, so we check it with the top up before we leave. On an RF we also make sure the windows still drop when the roof moves.

Does insurance cover a Mazda door window?

Usually, through comprehensive coverage. In Arizona, the full glass option includes door glass, so your share can be $0 if you chose it. In Florida, a door window normally goes under comprehensive with your deductible. We check your policy and confirm your share before the appointment. How insurance works for auto glass.

Can you replace just the glass in a Mazda door?

Yes. The door and its motor stay; only the glass changes. Afterwards we reset the power window so one-touch and jam-safe work again, because Mazda’s manuals say they won’t until that reset is done.
