  1. The Forward Sensing Camera

    On i-ACTIVSENSE Mazdas, a camera at the top of the glass feeds lane keeping, Smart Brake Support and radar cruise. Mazda’s procedure calls for aiming it whenever the windshield is replaced or reused.

  2. A rain sensor that reads the glass

    Auto wipers use an optical sensor looking through the windshield. Mazda’s repair information says the sensor’s protective sheet can’t be reused, so a fresh one goes on with the new glass.

  3. Display panel or projected display

    The Active Driving Display sits on a small panel on cars like the 2021 CX-3. On others, such as the 2026 CX-30 Turbo, it is projected onto the windshield. We check which one your Mazda has before ordering.

Why did my technician leave the windows down?

Mazda’s glass procedure says to keep the door glass open until the windshield install is finished. Shutting a door with the windows up pushes air against the fresh seal. It’s a short wait, and it protects the bond.

What does a Mazda windshield cost?

Mazda’s repair information marks an area in front of the camera where damage means a new windshield, because a fix there can affect what the camera sees. We replace windshields only, so send us a photo and we’ll quote the glass.

Do you do Mazda CX-5 windshield replacement on i-ACTIVSENSE trims?

Yes. On those trims the Forward Sensing Camera sits at the top of the glass, so the new CX-5 windshield carries its bracket, and Mazda’s aiming procedure follows the install. The rain sensor gets a fresh protective sheet as well.
