MINI Hardtop and Convertible doors have no window frame. The glass drops slightly when the door opens so it clears the roof seal, then rises to press back into it as the door closes. The Countryman and Clubman use framed doors, and the Hardtop 4 Door adds a pair of short rear doors with their own glass.
Frameless MINI glass has to sit exactly right to seal at speed, so after it is fitted we run the drop and rise, re-initialize the window and listen for wind noise. Tempered glass cubes are vacuumed out of the door first.

What a MINI door glass quote depends on
A frameless Hardtop window and a framed Countryman door pane are different MINI parts with different setup. Body, door and generation decide the quote.

How MINI door glass is replaced
The MINI door card and weather sheet come off, cubes of glass are cleared from the door and channel, and the new pane is bolted to the regulator. Frameless Hardtop glass is adjusted to the roof seal, the window is re-initialized so the drop works, and wind noise is checked before the trim goes back.
