Same nameplate, different glass.
A base Tacoma and a Limited from the same year can take different windshields. Grade and options decide the camera bracket, a head-up display and the side glass, so we start from the VIN.
Toyota Safety Sense looks through the glass
Recent Toyotas carry a forward camera behind the windshield for Toyota Safety Sense. I-CAR’s summary of Toyota repair information says that camera has to be calibrated once the windshield is replaced.
Head-up displays on upper grades
Toyota lists a head-up display on the 2021 Sienna Platinum, the 2024 Tacoma Limited, the 2025 4Runner Platinum and some 2025 Camry grades. That projection only reads right on a windshield built for it.
A rear window that powers down
Every 2025 4Runner has a power rear window in the liftgate. It is a moving pane with its own track, so it is ordered and fitted differently from fixed back glass.
Quieter glass in some front doors
The 2025 Camry XLE and XSE get acoustic laminated glass in the front side windows, and the 2023 Sequoia Capstone has acoustic glass in its front doors. A replacement should be the same type.

Will my Toyota need camera calibration after a new windshield?
Most likely, if it has Toyota Safety Sense. The forward camera sits behind the glass, and Toyota’s repair procedure calls for calibrating it after a windshield replacement. We read your VIN, tell you before booking and calibrate during the same visit where it can be done on site. Toyota ADAS calibration.
How do you know which Toyota windshield to bring?
From the VIN. Two RAV4s or Camrys from the same year can differ in the camera bracket, a head-up display or a rain sensor, and the VIN tells us which glass your car left the factory with.
Do I need a Toyota dealer to replace my glass?
