Every Volvo windshield is laminated, and on an XC90, XC60, XC40 or S60 it also hosts the camera and radar unit that City Safety uses to spot cars, cyclists and pedestrians. Volvos with a head-up display project speed and navigation onto the glass, and many builds add a rain sensor and a heated wiper rest area along the bottom edge.

Volvo City Safety recalibration after windshield replacement
City Safety, Volvo's collision avoidance system, reads the road through a camera and radar unit behind the windshield, and Pilot Assist and Lane Keeping Aid lean on it too. Volvo's position is that this unit is calibrated after any windshield replacement on an equipped car, so an XC90, XC60 or S60 gets that step with its new glass.

Coverage for Volvo glass replacement
Under Florida comprehensive, an XC60 or S60 windshield is replaced with the deductible waived. Arizona has every insurer offer a full glass option, and a Volvo windshield is paid in full when the XC90 or XC60 owner took it.
