Bristol West windshield replacement Arizona and Florida

We're a mobile auto glass shop serving Arizona and Florida. Tell us you're insured with Bristol West and we'll verify your coverage, handle the claim paperwork, and come to you — usually next-day.

Bristol West writes non-standard auto policies as a member company of Farmers Insurance Group, and we replace glass on those claims in both Arizona and Florida. The first thing to confirm is whether comprehensive coverage is actually on your policy — how the deductible works in either state follows entirely from that.

Where Bristol West policies fit

Bristol West is a member company of Farmers Insurance Group and writes non-standard private passenger auto insurance. That matters for one practical reason when your windshield breaks: non-standard policies are often built close to state minimums to keep the premium manageable, which means comprehensive coverage is sometimes an add-on rather than something already on the policy. Everything else about your glass claim follows from whether it is there.

We replace glass on Bristol West claims in both Arizona and Florida. The mechanics of the claim are nearly identical in the two states; what each state's law says about your deductible is not, so both are spelled out below.

Step one: read your declarations page

Before you call anyone, pull up your dec page in the Bristol West app or your policy documents and look at the coverage list. You are looking for a line that reads "Comprehensive" or "Other Than Collision," usually with a deductible amount next to it. Some policies also carry a separate glass or safety-glass endorsement listed on its own line. If neither appears, the policy is liability-only and glass damage is not a covered loss — no state statute changes that, in Arizona or in Florida.

Filing the claim

Bristol West accepts first notice of loss through its online claims portal, through the mobile app, or by phone with a claims representative. Report it as comprehensive glass damage and say which opening broke — windshield, door, quarter, back glass or sunroof. You will be issued a claim number. Write it down before you close the page.

Most Bristol West glass claims we handle arrive with a claim number and nothing else — no third-party dispatch or referral number attached. If you are asked which shop you want, name Bang AutoGlass and the claim moves with us; we take it from there and coordinate the paperwork directly. In both Arizona and Florida, the driver chooses their own glass shop. That is your decision to make regardless of who takes the call.

If your Bristol West policy is a Florida policy

Florida law (Fla. Stat. 627.7288) requires insurers to waive the deductible for windshield replacement when the policy includes comprehensive coverage. Two boundaries are worth stating plainly. First, it turns entirely on comprehensive being on the policy — which is why the dec page comes before everything else. Second, it is the windshield only. Door glass, quarter glass, back glass and sunroof glass are outside that statute, so your ordinary comprehensive deductible applies to those the normal way.

If your Bristol West policy is an Arizona policy

Arizona law (A.R.S. 20-264) requires insurers to offer optional no-deductible safety-glass coverage. Read that as written: offer, not provide. It is an option you either elected or did not elect when the policy was written or last renewed, and it is not automatic. Check the dec page for a glass or safety-glass endorsement. If you elected it, the windshield is handled without the deductible. If you did not, your comprehensive deductible applies to windshield glass exactly as it would to any other comprehensive loss. Arizona has no across-the-board windshield deductible waiver.

The vehicles behind these claims

On Bristol West claims we are most often working on Nissan, Ford, Toyota, Chevrolet and Jeep — and the fleet splits fairly evenly between recent model years and older ones. Those are two genuinely different jobs.

Newer vehicles: the camera comes with the glass

On a Toyota with Safety Sense, a Nissan with Safety Shield or ProPILOT, a Ford running Co-Pilot360, a late Silverado or Equinox, or a camera-equipped Grand Cherokee or Compass, the windshield is the mounting surface for the forward-facing camera. Take the glass out and the camera's aim relative to the road changes, which is why recalibration is part of the replacement rather than an upsell after it. Some of these calibrate statically against a target board on level ground in a controlled space; others calibrate dynamically on a road drive at sustained speed. We identify which one your vehicle needs from the VIN before we schedule, because a static calibration needs level covered space and that changes where we meet you.

Older vehicles: fitment, trim and what is under the old urethane

On higher-mileage F-150s, Silverados, Altimas, Camrys and Wranglers the risk shifts. Florida's coastal humidity and salt air work on the pinchweld under the old bead, and Arizona sun turns cowl clips, upper moldings and side trim brittle enough that they break on removal no matter how carefully it is done — so we bring new clips and moldings rather than planning to reuse the originals. A Jeep Wrangler's flat windshield sits in an exposed frame with its own hardware and gets treated accordingly. If we uncover corrosion on the bonding flange, we stop and show you rather than bonding new glass to a surface that will not hold it.

How the appointment actually works

We are mobile only — there is no location for you to drive to. We come to the vehicle wherever it is parked, and next day is the normal turnaround across our Arizona and Florida service areas. On site we need level ground and roughly ten feet of clearance. Shade helps: a garage or carport is ideal, because urethane needs dry glass and a workable temperature, and both Arizona monsoon season and a Florida summer afternoon can end an outdoor appointment quickly. If the weather turns, we reschedule rather than rush a bond you are going to rely on.

Before we leave you will get a safe drive-away time — the interval before the urethane has cured enough for the vehicle to be driven. Leave the retention tape on for the period we specify, crack a window when you close the doors so cabin pressure does not push on fresh glass, and hold off on a pressure wash for a couple of days.

One thing to know upfront: we do not offer chip or rock-chip repair. Replacement is the only service we provide.

Have this ready when you call us

  • Your Bristol West claim number, and the name the policy is written under
  • The date the damage happened
  • Your VIN — not just year, make and model. Glass part numbers split by build, and the VIN is what prevents the wrong part arriving
  • Which glass broke: windshield, door, quarter, back glass or sunroof
  • Any features you know of behind the mirror or in the glass — camera, rain sensor, heated wiper park, heads-up display
  • Where the vehicle will be, and whether there is covered or shaded space there

How a Bristol West glass claim works

  1. 1. You call or book online. Tell us it's a Bristol West policy and give us your vehicle, the damage, and where you want us to meet you.
  2. 2. We verify your coverage — free. We confirm what your policy actually covers before anything is scheduled, so there are no surprises.
  3. 3. We handle the claim paperwork. We file it and walk you through anything Bristol West needs from you directly.
  4. 4. We come to you. Home, work, or roadside — most jobs take 30–45 minutes, plus recalibration where your vehicle needs it.

Bristol West claims in Arizona

Arizona gives you three protections worth knowing before you file. Under A.R.S. § 20-264, every insurer selling comprehensive coverage in Arizona — Bristol West included — must offer you a zero-deductible full safety-glass option. If you carry it, your windshield replacement is $0 out of pocket. Under A.R.S. § 20-263, an insurer may not raise your premium over an accident you did not cause — the normal treatment for glass damage from road debris. And under A.R.S. § 20-469, the choice of glass shop is yours — not your insurer's.

We serve the Valley and beyond: Phoenix, Mesa, Scottsdale, Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, Glendale, and every Arizona city we serve. Full detail on state coverage rules is on our Arizona insurance guide.

Bristol West claims in Florida

Florida is the strongest windshield state in the country for drivers. Under Fla. Stat. § 627.7288, an auto policy with comprehensive coverage must replace your windshield with no deductible — so a Bristol West comprehensive policy generally means $0 out of pocket on a windshield replacement. The statute covers windshield replacement specifically; door, quarter, rear, and sunroof glass follow your normal deductible.

We serve Tampa Bay, Orlando, Miami, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, and cities across Florida. The full statute breakdown is on our Florida windshield law page.

Where we come to you

Bristol West glass claims — common questions

Do I have to use a glass shop that Bristol West points me to?+

No. In both Arizona and Florida the driver chooses their own glass shop. Bristol West glass claims we handle usually arrive with just a claim number rather than a third-party dispatch or referral number, but either way the choice is yours. You can name Bang AutoGlass when you report the loss, or call us afterward with the claim number and we will coordinate from there.

My Bristol West policy is liability-only. Is my windshield covered?+

No. Comprehensive coverage is what pays for glass. In Florida, the deductible waiver under Fla. Stat. 627.7288 applies only when the policy includes comprehensive coverage, and only to the windshield. In Arizona, the no-deductible safety-glass coverage under A.R.S. 20-264 is an option the insurer must offer and that you must have elected — it is never automatic. If your declarations page shows no Comprehensive or Other Than Collision line, glass damage is not a covered loss on that policy in either state.

Does my Bristol West claim include ADAS recalibration?+

If your Nissan, Toyota, Ford, Chevrolet or Jeep has a forward-facing camera mounted to the windshield, recalibration is a required part of the replacement rather than an optional extra — the camera is aimed relative to the glass it sits on. We check the VIN before scheduling, tell you whether yours needs a static or a dynamic calibration, and document it alongside the replacement so it is submitted as one job. Coverage for the recalibration follows the same comprehensive coverage that covers the glass itself.

Do I file the Bristol West claim myself?+

You don't have to. Tell us it's a Bristol West policy when you book and we handle the claim paperwork and walk you through the filing — that's included, not an add-on. Have your policy number and the date the damage happened handy and we take it from there.

Will a glass claim raise my Bristol West premium?+

Glass claims are filed under comprehensive coverage and are normally treated as not-at-fault events — a rock thrown up by a passing truck isn't something you caused. Arizona law (A.R.S. § 20-263) bars an insurer from raising your premium as a result of an accident you did not cause or significantly contribute to. Rating practices vary by carrier and policy, so if this is a concern, ask Bristol West directly how a comprehensive glass claim is treated on your policy.

How fast can you replace my windshield?+

Next-day appointments are typically available across Arizona and Florida, and we come to you — home, work, or roadside. Booking is open 24/7 online or by phone at (877) 994-5277. We confirm your exact window once we've verified your glass and your Bristol West coverage.
