Step by step
Lemonade’s app walks you through a glass claim in a chat. A standalone glass claim doesn’t ask for the short video other car claims need.
Send a photo and the car’s details, or call (877) 994-5277. We match the glass to your VIN and look at your Lemonade Car coverage with you.
On the Car tab, go to Policies and tap File A Claim. Choose Glass damage only, answer the questions, then tap Send details to Safelite.
Lemonade passes the details to Safelite, which contacts you to arrange the work. If you want us, say so and give (877) 994-5277.
Monday to Saturday, 8am–6pm, at your home or work. Most windshields take 30–45 minutes, and we bill your insurer directly.

Usually, through the comprehensive part of your Lemonade Car auto policy; a liability-only policy doesn’t pay for your own glass. In Arizona, the windshield skips the deductible only if you chose full glass coverage. In Florida, the deductible doesn’t apply to windshield damage on a policy with comprehensive coverage. We check your policy before booking.
In the Lemonade app, open the Car tab, scroll to Policies and tap File A Claim. Pick Glass damage only as the reason, then answer the rest of the questions.
Lemonade says it passes your details to Safelite, which then contacts you directly to look at the damage and arrange the work.
Lemonade completed its purchase of Metromile in July 2022 and said Metromile customers would move to the Lemonade app and brand. Check which app your policy documents name; for Lemonade Car, the steps above apply.
Lemonade sells an extended glass coverage add-on, and its glass deductible differs by state. In Arizona, full glass coverage is an option you choose; in Florida, a policy with comprehensive coverage doesn’t apply the deductible to windshield damage. We check yours first.
In Arizona you can choose any glass shop unless your policy contract says otherwise. In Florida, on a personal auto policy, the insurer may not require a particular company for windshield work; check your policy if it has a discounted repair arrangement. More on who picks the glass shop.
